Cranberry Lake Lodge has re-opened after extensive renovations & with trail into town re-opened, you can ride to their door for food, drinks & overnight accomodations! J

Fletchers Motel on east side of Star Lake has rooms & trailer parking J

Newton Falls Hotel had re-opened but then closed again L

Nice & Easy in Star Lake has gas & provisions ! J

Pinecone Restaurant in Wanakena still serving their famous burgers J

Ralphie’s is still putting out great wings! J

Stone Manor Diner’s breakfasts shouldn’t be missed, not to mention lunch & dinner specials, and rooms for the night! J 

Twin Lakes great food & spirits are accessible by trail! J

Windfall Bar & Grill now has accomodations for overnight stays. J

Gas Station (Lakeside Grocery) in Cranberry is CLOSED for the winter, so closest gas is Star Lake, Nice & Easy or Ham’s at Sevey’s Corners L However, a local Cranberry Lake business is in the process of getting gas for sledders & we will update this site, once same is up & running !! J

Snowmobile Safety Course

Was held Saturday, January 12, 2008 8am – 4pm @ the Cranberry Lake Fire Dept & was a great success!! There was no charge for this class & lunch will be provided by our club through the Stone Manor Diner. Many thanks to the instructors, Dick Dowling & Tricia Snyder, along with Mary Zuhlsdorf for putting on an excellent class with almost 20 students in attendance. Thanks also to the two DEC reps who gave an very good presentation on the law & sled registration (& to Bob Barstow for arranging for them to help make this class most rewarding!!)

Youth ages 14 through 17 years old may operate a snowmobile without adult or other supervision if they have completed a snowmobile safety training course recognized by the State of New York. Youth ages 10 through 13 may operate a snowmobile, on lands upon which snowmobiling is allowed, if they have completed a snowmobile safety training course recognized by the State of New York and are accompanied by (within 500 feet of) a person who is at least 18 years of age.

Children under 10 years old or under age 14 without a safety certificate may operate a snowmobile only on lands owned or leased by their parent or guardian.

Congratulations to Heiden Harris, of Fine, who with the winning raffle ticket # 963 on 12/22/07, won the Polaris 120 Kid’s snowmobile generously donated by Bill & Jan Lutz of Fun Unlimited – thanks to all who helped this important fundraiser for our & Long Ponds Snowmobile Clubs benefit!!!

Congratulations to our member Ralph Collins for winning NYS Snowmobile Association’s “2007 Groomer of the Year Award” & to the all the Cranberry Lake Mountaineers Snowmobile Club volunteers who won NYS Snowmobile Association’s “2007 Snowmobile Club of the Year” Award, for maintaining some of the best trails in New York !!
